This largely depends on what discipline you want to pursue. For Software Engineers a degree in Computer Science is highly recommended with emphasis in C and C++. Curriculum exposure to low level programming, graphics/rendering, physics, network programming are some key domain areas pertinent to our work here. For our production folks, anything and everything that you can lay your hands on relating to game design is the key, whether it be in a university curriculum, workshops, or self-study; these are all good teaching tools to learn about the craft of Game Design. For artists, trying to learn everything that is offered in your program is essential. Important areas are going to be: Layout, Camera Angles, and Design Principles, using 3D graphics software proficiently, storyboards, communication skills, presentation skills and ability to handle constructive critique.

Central Florida is a great place to live and work and enjoys a lower cost of living than most other game industry locations. One of our founders grew up in Florida and believed Orlando would be a great place to start the studio.

There are certainly adjacent industries to EA in the area including a center of excellence for modeling & simulation for the country as well as a burgeoning digital arts community which include the DAVE school, FIEA, and Full Sail to name a few. Orlando also has a hand full of game industry companies and digital media companies that are growing rapidly.
